Google IO 2026: Aurora and AI Mode
This YEAR at Google I/O 2026, we unveiled new models, agents and tools to help you build, search, create, discover, shop and get more done.Whether you are building intelligent agents, utilizing new vibe-coding tools, or tuning and serving open-source models, gain a clear understanding of the tools needed to build next-generation AI apps.
Objective:As part of the A2 (Ask and Answer, i.e. Search) Team, I put together End to End Animation Flows for both Mobile and Desktop.
Utilizing Zero State, AI Mode, Query Input, Fusebox, Thinking Steps, AI Overview, and Follow Up Query, the User completes a successful End to End Flow with AI Mode.
“Aurora” adds a delightful interface update for Google’s conversational AI search feature, Search Live, which features an aurora-like gradient at the bottom of the screen.

Background:E2E Flow Animations:
Google Search is more intuitive than ever, dynamically expanding to give you space to describe exactly what you need. Designed to anticipate your intent, it also helps you formulate your question with AI-powered suggestions that go beyond autocomplete. And you can search across modalities, using text, images, files, videos or Chrome tabs as inputs. You’ll continue to get a range of results from Search, just like you do today. The new intelligent Search box is starting to roll out today, in all countries and languages where AI Mode is available.
Seamless Search
We also made it even simpler to continue the conversation with Search. You can easily ask a follow-up question right from an AI Overview, and flow into a conversational back and forth with AI Mode. Your context stays with you, and as you explore more deeply, the links and supporting articles get even more relevant. This seamless experience is live today across desktop and mobile, worldwide.
